- Organizations actively seek individuals with knowledge, skills and experience to offer their services on a full or part-time basis without remuneration on special projects or in positions that benefit the organization itself or the people it serves. Many agencies that provide volunteer opportunities also offer intensive training for the tasks required.

Offers programs that provide consultation/technical assistance, information, research, training or outsourcing services for nonprofit organizations, small businesses and other groups that need assistance in program planning, development, administration and/or evaluation or which relate to specific technical facets, including board development, conference planning, credentialing, ethics, facility administration, financial management, fundraising, human resources and information technology. In conjunction with FEMA, victims of tornadoes and other disasters in Arkansas can receive free legal assistance with insurance claims, counseling on housing problems, replacement of wills and other legal documents, drafting of powers of attorney and referral to local or state agencies.
Any attorneys not already involved in the project are encouraged to volunteer, especially those in affected counties.

FAITH BASED & COMMUNITY INITIATIVES

The Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) Division of Volunteerism offers diverse training resources as well as technical assistance to strengthen the capacity and program development of faith based and grass roots social service organizations and promotes organizational sustainability. It provides training which builds:
  • Organizational capacity
  • Financial capacity
  • Networking capacity
  • Outreach capacity
  • Programmatic capacity
VOLUNTEER CHAPLAINS meet the second Wednesday of each month in the private dining room of the Great River Medical Center, 1520 N. Division, Blytheville at 10:30 AM. (5/31/07)
